Don’t Stake Out Your Territory

Stand in the HighwayIn looking at a real web presence, don’t “stake out your territory”.., stand “in the middle of the highway”. Sure, find your niche. But don’t limit yourself. Receive as much as you give. Give as much as you receive. And that doesn't mean money.

National / International sales are way more possible than you think. Groups accessing truthful information are creating new opportunities for all of us to understand the world around us and  get the things we need & want, and go where we want to go.

Web 1.0 tried some new business models. Web 2.0 sort of turned the Web into it’s own money machine. For Web players with any viable site that makes it different.
But the money is not the game. Money is underlying and necessary. On top of that is the content: the intellectual property, even the “character’ of the author, organization, or institution putting out the data.

The game is about data. Content data. For small businesses, that means that you must squeeze your mind to put as much of it as you can into your site. You must really stretch and reach inside to put your stuff on your own URL and get your URL out there. Should you have a facebook? Sure why not? But use facebook and others to drive traffic to Your URL. Particularly business related things. People want to know all about it.

Show yourself. Show your product. Give your site a lot. It’s the best way to get it to bring back good returns to you. Bottom line: More is better.

Trend to watch: Just put Your Stuff out there, and focus it at your URL rather than on the big social sites. Zillions of social sites will turn up. Big groups. Little groups. Just join up. Hello.
