Meeting The Venture Capital InvestorAny type of business venture is based on two goals - accelerate growth and have an annual rate of return that will motivate you enough to continue. In order to achieve that, you need to infuse additional capital. In other words, every now and then, you would need an investor.

Before you approach any individual, whether he is a venture capital investor or an angel investor, you need to prepare a set of documents that will help you convince him that his money would be in a secure and highly profitable place. Only when he ends up believing in what you are saying will they start reaching for their wallets.

The set of documents that I am referring to is no other than your ,. Your business plan is a meticulously prepared, comprehensive statement of what you intend to achieve, when you think you would achieve it and how you plan to achieve it as well as the reasons why you think it is achievable.

You should prepare a business plan whether you are seeking an early stage venture capital or an investment to scale up your currently highly profitable operation.

It should contain an executive summary, business description, business environment analysis, industry background, competitive analysis, market analysis, marketing plan, operations plan, management summary, financial plan, milestones, and other attachments. All these information should be delivered in a clear and thorough presentation.

Although you are the supreme authority of your project, being familiar with it like the back of your hand, there are things that capital investors would like to hear that you may not be familiar with. To make sure that your business plan is geared to persuade potential investors, it would be best to run it through a business plan review.

A business plan review is conducted by well experienced specialists who know what it takes to persuade any kind of capital investor. Your role is to prepare your plan. Theirs is to see to it that it contains the right information, presentation, and concept. They will inform you whether what you have prepared is attuned for your target audience.
