J. R. Ransom spent most of his life in the music business. He was president of Biscuit City Records in the 70's. Operated High Plaines Audio Recording Studios during the early 80's. During this time he produced 33 Folk, Jazz, Bluegrass, Celtic albums, including 4 of his own albums.
Later he work at prestigeous ListenUp Audio in Home and Professional sound. He and his wife Allyn Rose ransom formed Taos Music & Art, Inc. (TMA) in 1991. After TMA got involved in direct response music marketing on broadcast television the company switched to concentration on the worldwide web in about 1995.
TMA's first web sites appeared in 1996, first virtual reality in 1997, first video clips in 1998, and first web portals in 1999. J. R. Ransom now is computer and web guru to a number of individuals and companies.
TMA operates Taos MultiMedia Studio in Taos as well as the taosplaza.com group of web sites - including an online music store taosmusic.com which has recently introduced individual songs purchases onlne.
